The 10 Best Halloween Candies of 2022
Trick-or-treaters’ be on the look out for these spooktacular sweets!
It’s the latter half of the year and you know what that means! It’s the spookiest time of the year! Mind you, it’s not the end of the year, so keep your candy canes and trees well under wraps. Halloween deserves a whole month to shine as well!
If the best part about Christmas is presents, then by far the best thing about Halloween is the candy. Who says you have to buy candy to give it away? You’re an adult, you work hard, you deserve that candy! Whether or not it makes its way into the hands of children or your own… no one will ever know. Who’s gonna know?

When one thinks of some of the best Halloween candy ever, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups always come to mind. The chocolate with the peanut butter… it’s a complete chef’s kiss. How can you go wrong with peanut butter and chocolate? There’s simply no way. Now with so many variations it’s easy to get small ones for the kids and the big ones for mom and dad. Just remember to stash them high in the pantry so the kids won’t find them.

Maybe you don’t want peanut butter, but you still want something to cut the sweetness of the chocolate. A lesser known, but equally delicious, is a Heath bar. It’s got a nice crunch to it thanks to the toffee, and can be bought at a variety of sizes.

It’s always good to have a variety of candy in your candy bowl, as not every child can have chocolate or peanut butter. Another solid Halloween candy that’s conveniently packaged into individual boxes are Nerds. Sweet and crunchy, who doesn’t like a box of Nerds?

Hear me out on this next Halloween candy option: it can be polarizing, but is it really Halloween without it on your mantle, for at least decoration and for people to gasp “You really bought candy corn??” Polarizing as it may be, candy corn is always a staple for Halloween.

M&Ms are another candy staple, no matter the holiday. Don’t disappoint your family without getting a few bags of these simple, traditional Halloween chocolate.

Trolli Sour Bite Crawlers can give your palette a bit of respite from all the chocolate, thanks to its sour kick. It’d also be great to add these to a Halloween themed bake good, as you can have the “worms” coming out of chocolate, or “dirt,” that you might need to make. Or you know, they’re perfect for snacking on while you cook.

Twizzlers can be a great candy to hand out at the door for Halloween but they can also be used for any Halloween kids party (or dinner party, whichever you like) as straws for your drinks of choice. Simply cut off the two ends and voila! Instant straws and you’re free to do with extra ends however you like (no one will know if they just magically disappear as you’re making the straws).

All of the chocolate candy that have been listed so far have been definitely chocolate dominant. Maybe you’re feeling a bit peckish – whoops, maybe the kinds are feeling a bit hungry for something that’s a bit lighter on the chocolate but still has that delicious flavor. Whoppers are the way to go.

There’s always a deluge of different kinds of chocolate and fruit flavored candy, but don’t forget about the suckers! You can’t go wrong with a classic: the Blow Pop.

Last, but not least, don’t forget about your Kit Kat bars. They’re a perfect addition to any Halloween candy bowl or party and a staple of the holiday.

The prices of these candies can vary, but don’t forget that if some feel a bit overpriced, look for the smaller sizes to give away. Save the big versions for parties and get a variety of different kinds of candy to work your way to becoming the “good house” to hit in your neighborhood. Then again, no one will blink an eye if all your lights are off and you save all the candy for yourself. Scrooge is for Christmas, not Halloween.
